ETMLA SUMMER Strings Program

At Education Through Music-Los Angeles (ETM-LA), we take the fun of traditional day camp and mix it with hands-on music education. ETM-LA is thrilled to host a string ensemble program for BEGINNING AND INTERMEDIATE students learning violin, viola, or cello and entering 4th, 5th, or 6th grades. We look forward to having your child join us this summer!

ETMLA Celebration of Music

On March 14, 2018 in partnership with Education Through Music Los Angeles, Dorris Place School along with 22 other schools were given the opportunity to participate in a celebration of music at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The 8th Annual Music Unites the World Festival featured collaboration, coaching, master classes and special guest artists, all in celebration of music in Los Angeles.

Fun With Sphero

As a School for Advanced Studies, Dorris Place commits to strengthen services for students identified as gifted, highly gifted, and students who demonstrate superior academic achievement.

During the 2017-2018 school year, gifted and highly gifted students participated in after school programming on Tuesday which incorporated coding and Spheros. Spheros are spherical robots that are controlled by a smartphone or tablet.

Students “code,” or program the sphero to do different functions. These classes incorporate hands-on learning and collaboration.

Do you want to support our school?

Do you want to read stories by Dorris Place authors?

Do you want to donate something to the students of Dorris Place that will last for years?

This can all be done by purchasing 2 original books written by Dorris Place students. If you purchase 2 books at $10 each, you can choose a book to be donated to our library. In the book it will have your name and students will know that you helped grow our library collection.

Books on sale now in office, get your copy before they sell out.
